The beowulf manuscript complete texts and the fight at the beowulf ms text is good to have as all the poems in that ms are about monsters and there are too many very poor paperback editions of beowulf it is nice to have a reference edition it is liberal in some respects replacing the confusing second beowulf with beow it is conservative in that the four inadvertent imo masculinisations of grendels mother are not discussed which is a pity
